Reconstruction and upgrading of the existing suspended bridge for supporting water pipes and pedestrian traffic over Western Morava river

Reconstruction and upgrading of the pedestrian bridge over Western Morava river in Trstenik, which was badly damaged in floods in May 2014, is one of the most important projects for the city / municipality because in this way they are get a modern pedestrian bridge (the old bridge was not for pedestrians, but only served as a supporting construction for the water pipe), which, in addition to its primary role - that is, to transfer the water from spring Zvezdan to consumers in the city via water pipelines (which are practically built into the bridge construction and are not visible) capacity ~ 120 l / s - supplies the city from the two sides.

Within the framework of the German-Serbian bilateral cooperation, through the KfW program "Water, sewage and sewage treatment program in mid-sized cities in Serbia", significant support is provided for the modernization and construction of water supply and sewage infrastructure.
The goal of the program is to contribute to the efficient use of water resources, to ensure the proper quality and quantity of drinking water for the population and the economy, and to contribute to the protection of the environment through waste water management.

Since the beginning of the program implementation, technical and institutional support has been provided to more than 20 cities in Serbia with a total of 1.6 million inhabitants through five separate programs, out of which more than 245 individual investment projects have been entirely completed or the process is underway. Of the total number of companies involved in the project implementation, 85% are domestic companies. The program throughout its duration also contributes to business improvement, monitor the results and assess the sustainability of the operation of utility companies participating in the project.
